If you’ve ever caught yourself saying, “I’d love to do a boudoir session someday… but not right now,” you’re not alone. Most of our clients at Lisa Gallant Photography say the same thing before finally booking — and every single one of them leaves saying, “I wish I’d done this sooner.”
Let’s clear up some of the biggest myths that might be holding you back.

1. “I need to lose weight first.”
Nope. You are perfect right now. I know how to pose and light every body type beautifully, and your images will highlight your best features — no matter your size, shape, or age. Boudoir isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence.
2. “I don’t know how to pose.”
That’s literally my job! You’ll never be left wondering what to do. I’ll guide you from head to toe, demonstrate every pose, and make sure you feel confident the entire time. Most clients end up saying, “That was way easier (and more fun!) than I expected.”
3. “Boudoir is only for brides or partners.”
It’s not! Sure, a boudoir album makes an incredible gift — but most of my clients do their sessions for themselves. To celebrate a birthday, a big life change, or simply to remember how amazing they are.
4. “I’m too nervous / awkward for this.”Everyone feels that way at first. Within 10 minutes, you’ll forget about the camera. My studio is a safe, judgment-free zone where you can show up exactly as you are and leave feeling empowered.
5. “It’s too expensive.”Boudoir photography is an investment, but one that gives back confidence for years to come. Our collections include professional makeup, expert retouching, and luxury keepsakes. And our Black Friday Pre-Sale is the best time of year to save.
