Welcome gorgeous!
I'm not going to beat around any bushes today, I'll just dive right into this topic. We talk a lot about the reason TO have a Boudoir Portrait Session, but we don't talk much about what is holding you back. Today, I'm going smash down those walls and show you why your thoughts are killing your sexy vibe.
Have you ever experienced these thoughts:
"I need to lose 10 pounds first."
"I'm too old for boudoir."
"I'm too overweight for boudoir."
"I'm not a model."
"I'm not photogenic."
Your negative thinking has a much bigger impact on your happiness than you probably realize. Stop. JUST STOP! Life is hard enough without us tearing ourselves down constantly. I'll bet no one really taught you how to love yourself growing up. I know I wasn't taught how to embrace the body I was given. But that's exactly what we must learn to do, and pass it on to our daughters and nieces, cousins, hell whomever needs it! Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and loved.
"I need to lose 10 pounds first"...Seriously y'all? You're going to let pounds come between you and a life changing event? That's a little water weight and a double cheeseburger. Besides I'm good for 20 lbs in just posing and lighting. When you have this thought, you're telling yourself that you aren't good enough. I say BULLSHIT! You ARE good enough. In fact you are more than good enough, you are f*cking fabulous!
"I'm too old" Granted there are some things that we can get "too old" for, like dancing on bars all night long. I'm 41 now, dancing on bars hurts to even think about. But there is no such thing as being "too old" to experience something that can help you love yourself. We are never too old for self-love or self-discovery. Don't believe me, join my Facebook group and ask around in there. I have many clients that society would say are "too old" for a boudoir session. But you know what, they did it, loved it, and so can you.
"I'm too overweight" I'm calling BS again. I have heard this many times and it never ceases to pisses me off. I would love to find the person who first said you had to be skinny to be sexy, so I could slap crap out of them. Sexy comes in all sizes! Sexy can be a size 2 or a size 22! Stop listening to fashion magazine editors. Right now, there is a wonderful shift happening in society, this body positivity movement. I flipping love it! My hope is that this movement helps empower every woman to make the changes they need in their own mindset. We all need to get out of our own way! If we did there's no limit to what we could accomplish.
"I'm not a model" Well, neither are 99% of my clients. The women you see in my portfolio aren't professional models. They are just like you. They are the first time moms, who wear stretch marks like a badge of honor. They are the grandmother of five ready to reconnect with her femininity. They are the thirty-something mom in yoga pants who drives a mini van and gives so much to her family that she just wants to reclaim a bit of herself. YOU are my client, just a normal everyday woman of any shape and size.
"I'm not photogenic" If this is what you truly think, then you haven't ever been photographed by the right photographer. Most non-photographers (and some "photographers") Don't truly understand light and posing. Finding the right person, who is knowledgeable about their craft, can make the world of difference. I look forward to proving you wrong on this one.
So now that we've covered all of the things holding you back, what are you waiting for? You see now how toxic thinking can ruin your vibe. Let's counter all of that toxicity with some positivity! I challenge you to say "no more"; no more negative, self-defeating thoughts. From this moment forward I want you to free yourself of this not good enough mindset. I want you to compliment yourself everyday, at least once. Let it soak in and take effect. When you're ready to move forward, give me a call. I would love to be a part of your self love journey. Remember you are worth it. You deserve it.
