I always ask my clients and potential clients why they want to do a boudoir photo session with me. Their answers never cease to amaze me. The stories I hear y'all! Some will make you cry and the others will make you scream for joy for them.
Here are some of the top reasons to Treat Yo'self to a boudoir shoot!
1. You're Single! F**k yeah!
Ending a relationship is never easy or fun. It doesn't have to be a time of mourning! Remember, this is your fresh start and chance to show the world how awesome you are. Despite what society says, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being single. Own it girl! Call your best friend, pour some wine, and go pick out some new lingerie. Doing a boudoir shoot is the perfect way to flaunt what you've got and remind yourself that you are sexy AF. Plus I can hook you up with amazing Tender photos, JS!
2. Motherhood - You made a whole human!
Your body hasn't belonged to you in at least 9 months, longer if you breastfed or had fertility treatments, and it's changed-probably A LOT. You should be proud! Motherhood is a beautiful thing and a boudoir photo session is a great way to celebrate this time in your life. You are still beautiful! Those yoga pants make your butt look smoking girl! Looking back at these photos in 5, or 10 years, will remind you of this special time of your life. These sessions can be either maternity boudoir or we can schedule for after your baby is born.
3. Celebrate getting in shape/gains at the gym. Fist bump!
you didn't eat that kale because you liked it. Or maybe you did and you're an anomaly. You've been working your butt off (not literally) to get in shape and there is no better way to celebrate those wins than by taking it off and doing a boudoir shoot to show it off. You've earned it!
4. You're getting married! Yay!
A beautiful, intimate boudoir album has become the #1 gift to give your partner on your wedding day. It's something you can look through together or separately for years to come. 6. Healing from trauma. You.Are.A.Survivor.
You've made it through. It's so hard to get out of an abusive relationship and rebuild your life. I completely understand this and respect your strength and courage. It's a long journey to believing that you are worth it and you are good enough. But you ARE worth it. You ARE good enough, for life-for love-for the world! Boudoir photo shoot can be an empowering and uplifting experience.
7. You're only this young once
I kinda didn't want to list one. I don't actually believe in ever reaching a peak and I don't buy into the concept that beauty and age are related. However, it IS true that you will never be this young again. And any reason to celebrate is reason enough for me!
8. Love yourself.
We spend so much time focusing on the other areas of our lives, our education, our careers, our families, our relationship status...but, we don't really take the time to take care of ourselves. Taking a day to get pampered by one of the amazing hair and makeup artists at my studio, doing an empowering photo shoot, and then literally having a book of images that you can look at as much as you want for the rest of your life, that shows you just how amazing you are; well that might be just what you need. It's not selfish to treat ourselves. It is absolutely necessary.
9.F**K Cancer
I have tremendous respect for anyone who has battled cancer, and breast cancer is especially dear to my heart, as my mother is a survivor. Whether you would like to have your shoot before your mastectomy to have a keepsake that celebrates YOUR body, or after you've kicked cancer's ass and you want to celebrate the body you've fought so hard for, it would be an honor and privilege for me to be a part of that. You're a survivor. You're a woman. And you're a badass!
10.Own your sexy
You are allowed to be sexy! There is no rule book that says otherwise. Trust me. I looked everywhere for it. Your day job may force you to hold back. You might be worried what your friends and family would think, but you do know those opinions don't mean a thing. The only opinion that matters is YOURS! If you want to show off the lingerie that's been sitting in your closet, what better time than now? This is your life. Live it on YOUR terms. Own it! Be the goddess who's been dying to come out and play!
11. Empowerment
Confidence is Sexy AF. (Have you seen our wine glasses and coffee mugs that attest to this?) You may be hesitant and a bit scared, but sometimes you just gotta jump in the deep end to find out how good of a swimmer you really are. I promise not to let you drown! One the reasons so many women choose to do a boudoir shoot is because of the confidence they gain from it. All of the tings you imagine yourself being, you already are. You are already beautiful. You are already strong and brave. You are already...(wait for it)...Sexy AF! I just help you see that. I can't make you into someone you are not.
12. Um, because it's fun!
You can do a lot of things on a day off. You can go to brunch with friends, or shopping, or even the spa. But none of those things give you a images to take home that shows you how amazing you are. You get to show off a side of you that most people probably don't see. You get to choose your favorite images and have them crafted into an album that will last a lifetime or have a few printed for your master bedroom/bathroom. or closet. That beats a pitcher of mimosas any day.
I get so many replies that something like " I'd love to but I want to lose 10 more pounds first. " or " Who would give them to." or "I'm not a model.." These are the most common reasons I hear from women who THINK they are not ready to do a boudoir shoot. Well, no tries yoga because they are already flexible. Step out of your comfort zone. Jump into the deep in. You just may discover a side of you that you didn't think you had. Boudoir may end up being the best thing you have ever done for yourself.
